I use filtered water, or distilled because tap water in my area is very high in minerals. I love the ease of using it, as it is fast and perfect with every cup.

I spent a lot of money on this however it broke after 1 month of using it (brewed probably about 25 coffees). he butttons stopped working and i could no longer use it. The folks at CuisinArt are VERY horrible with their warranties too. Stay away!

I had this unit since 2009 and it just died. I did have a few problems, leaking, having to descale frequently. The unit I think is a bit pricey.
